Abstract



In this study, candidate teacher training process was analysed according to the opinions of candidate teachers. The study is a qualitative study that was conducted on descriptive survey. The research group of the study consists of 25 teachers selected with critical case sampling method, one of the purposeful sampling methods, among the teachers assigned to the schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in the Zile district of the city centre of Tokat in 2016-2017 academic year. A semi-structured interview form was used to collect the data. In the study, three open-ended questions for the first stage of the candidate teacher training period were asked to the candidate teachers and the themes and categories were determined by analysing the collected data with the descriptive analysis technique. According to the findings of the study, it was determined that the candidate teachers thought that the duration and content of the program were generally sufficient and that they had a positive contribution to their professional development. In addition, most of the candidate teachers state that there are some negative aspects of the forms they have prepared in this process, but they express that they find the forms useful despite these negativities.
