Abstract
1968-1980 yılları arası hem Dünya tarihi hem de Türkiye tarihinde en hareketli dönemlerden birisidir. Bu dönmedeki toplumsal olaylar gençler tarafından sosyal hak ve özgürlük arayışı protestoları ile başlamış akabinde şiddet, kan ve ölümle sonuçlanan çatışmalara dönüşmüştür. Soğuk savaşın etkisiyle iki kutba ayrılan Dünyada, Kapitalizm-Sosyalizm gibi kavramlar ve bu kavramların etrafından oluşan ideolojik terimler gençler tarafından kabul görmüştür. ABD’nin 1965 yılında Vietnam’a savaş açması gençleri daha çok öfkelendirmiş ve anti-emperyalizm tutum sergilemelerine neden olmuştur. Bu dönemde ABD’nin Vietnam’dan çıkması için ilk protesto mitingleri Latin Amerika ülkelerinde başlamış ardından Avrupa’ya ve en sonunda Türkiye’ye ulaşmıştır. Türkiye’deki protestolar zamanla karşıt görüşlerin birbirine kendi ideolojisini kabul ettirme cabası, Türkiye’de uzun yıllar kaosun hâkim olmasına neden olmuştur. Bu dönemde Türkiye’de politik anlamda ilk öğrenci hareketi ABD ordusuna ait 6. Filonun Haziran 1967’de Türkiye’ye gelmesiyle İstanbul’da başlamış ve muhtelif şehirlere sıçramıştır. İstanbul’da Çıkan çatışmalar neticesinden Vedat Demircioğlu ölmüştür. Sosyalist ideolojiye mensup gençlerin, ilk devrim şehidi olarak gördükleri Vedat Demircioğlu Konyalıdır. Bu nedenle Konya’da bu dönemde şiddetli çatışmalar yaşanmıştır.

Abstract
The 1968-1980 period is one of the most active periods in both world history and Turkey history. The social events in this transformation started with the protests of the pursuit of social rights and freedom by the youth and then turned into conflicts that resulted in violence, blood and death. In the word, which was divided into two poles due to the effect of the cold war concepts such as capitalism-socialism and ideological terms around these concepts were accepted by the youth. The USA’s declaration of war on Vietnam in 1965 angered young people even more and caused them to exhibit anti-imperialism. During this period, the first protest rallies for the USA to leave Vietnam stardet in Latin American countries, the reached Europe and finally Turkey. Protests in Turkey over time that both sides made each other accept their own ideology, it caused chaos to prevail in Turkey for many years. During this period the first political student movement in Turkey belonged to the US army. It started in İstanbul with the arrival of the fleet in Turkey in June 1967 and spread to various cities. Vedat Demircioğlu died as a result of the conflicts. Vedat Demircioğlu, whom the young people belonging to the socialist ideology see as the martyr of the first revolution, is from Konya. Fort his reason, there were violent clashes in Konya during this period.
